THEN WORKED HIS WAY THROUGH THE RANKS FOR MANY YEARS BEFORE PROMOTED TO SOLID WASTE DIVISION MANAGER IN 1999.
MANAGE OPERATIONS OF STILL FILL LANDFILLS AND WASTE OF ENERGY AND RECYCLE PROGRAMS. THERE'S MUCH MORE TO THESE OPERATIONS THAT MEET THE EYE AND HIS WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE HAS KEPT THE DIVISION RUNNING SMOOTHLY FOR 22 YEARS. THAT HAS BEEN THE AND HAS BEEN DIVISION MANAGER.
GLENN HAS ADAPTED WELL TO MANY CHANGES THE REGULATIONS OF PERMITTING OVER THE PAST 30 YEARS AND MY SHORT TIME HERE, I CAN TELL YOU THERE IS A BUNCH OF THOSE REGULATIONS THEY'RE CONSTANTLY CHANGING WITH ENVIRONMENTAL. BILLIONS LEADERSHIP AND EXPERTISE IN SOLID WASTE. THE OLD HAS BEEN A MAJOR ASSET TO THE SOLID WASTE DIVISION WITHOUT HIS EXPERTISE DIVISION WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SURVIVE THE MAJOR DEBRIS MANAGEMENT OPERATION BROUGHT ON BY HURRICANE MICHAEL IN 2000 AND 18. AND HAS MANY HAS HAD MANY PROJECTS HANDED TO HIM THROUGHOUT THE YEARS. OUTSIDE OF THE TRASH BUSINESS, SUCH AS BUILDING THE BAY COUNTY SHOOTING RANGE, WHICH WAS OPENED IN 2014. IN ADDITION, HE MANAGED OCCLUSION OF THE WASTE TO ENERGY FACILITY IN MARCH OF 21 WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE AN UNWAVERING CLOSURE WITH NO MAJOR ISSUES. GLENN HAS BEEN BAKED, HAVE SEEN BAY COUNTY GROW TREMENDOUSLY SINCE 1991 AS WELL AS THE TONNAGES THAT ARE BROUGHT. THE DISPOSAL FACILITIES, THE SOLID WASTE DIVISION IS PROJECTED TO RECEIVE OVER 250,000 TONS OF TRASH THIS YEAR ALONE. THAT'S ENORMOUS. EDDIE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE OF ALL FILL MAINTENANCE, IRRIGATION AND TOURNAMENT PROCEDURES ARE REAL ASSET TO THE VISION AND IS TYPICALLY THE FIRST TWO VOLUNTEERS TIME AND ENERGY TO ENSURE THE SUCCESS OF AN EVENT. FOLLOWING THE AFTERMATH OF HURRICANE MICHAEL HAD HE PUT THE NEEDS OF THE COUNTY BEFORE HIS PERSONAL NEEDS. LIKE MANY IN THE COMMUNITY, AND HE LOST HIS OWN AND A FEW MONTHS LATER, HIS BELOVED BROTHER. WITH THE EXTREME AMOUNT OF DEBRIS SOLID WASTE RECEIVED AFTER THE STORM, EDDIE WAS REASSIGNED THE SOLID WASTE NEVER COMPLAINING ABOUT HIS WORKLOAD AND LONG HOURS. AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS, AND HE RETURNED TO PARKS AND REC. WITH A SMILE AND ENTHUSIAST. COVID 19 PANDEMIC. CREATING NEW CHALLENGES FOR EVERYONE AS ESSENTIAL WORKERS PARKS EMPLOYEES CONTINUE THEIR DUTIES, PROVIDING THE COMMUNITY WITH AN OUTLET. FROM HOME CONFINEMENT, BE WALKING TRAILS, PLAYGROUNDS AND OUTDOOR SPACES.IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW IMPORTANT THIS OUTLET BECOMES. IS IT'S INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT. AFTER THE STORM.
