AN INCREASE IN, THIS IS UNDER THE LIVE LOCAL ACT WITH FLORIDA HOUSING FINANCE CORPORATION, WHICH WAS JUST PASSED LAST LEGISLATIVE SESSION IN 2023. THEY PUT IN AN RFA FOR, LOCAL GOVERNMENTS THAT WANTED TO APPLY FOR MATCHING FUNDS TO DEVELOP A MULTIFAMILY DEVELOPMENT NEAR A MILITARY INSTALLATION, OF COURSE, WE'RE ELIGIBLE, BUT SO ARE NINE OTHER MILITARY INSTALLATIONS IN OUR REGION. SO, TO, YOU KNOW, GAIN SUPPORT FOR THIS PROJECT. WE ADDED THE DONATION OF THE SIX ACRE PARCEL OF LAND WHICH WAS ALREADY ON THE SURPLUS LANDS LIST, DESIGNATED FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING. THEY'RE WANTING TO COME TOGETHER TO PARTNER FOR THIS MILITARY INSTALLATION PROJECT THAT THAT WE'RE HOPING TO BE ABLE TO BRING TO BAY COUNTY, 50%. IT'S APPROXIMATELY 75 TO 100 UNITS THAT THEY'RE PROJECTING TO DEVELOP. 50% OF THE UNITS MUST BE OCCUPIED BY ACTIVE OR VETERAN MILITARY. THAT IS THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS PROJECT, ALL THE SUPPORT SERVICES WILL BE PROVIDED THAT ARE MUCH NEEDED BY MILITARY POPULATIONS AND THEIR FAMILIES.AND I FEEL VERY CONFIDENT THAT THIS IS AN EXCELLENT APPLICATION THAT WE WOULD LIKE TO TAKE TO THE STATE LEVEL, THE APPLICATION IS DUE FROM THE CONTRACTORS, TO THE STATE BY OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 7TH. SO IT'S MOVING PRETTY QUICK, THE STATE WILL REVIEW THE APPLICATIONS AROUND OCTOBER 11TH.
