THIS GRANT BROUGHT INTO OUR COMMUNITY, WE ADDED A OR FOR EVERY $4 $1 OF GRANT FUNDS, CREATED THREE ADDITIONAL DOLLARS IN OUR COMMUNITY. NEW CONSTRUCTION HOMES. SO PART OF RAPID REHOUSING WAS PURCHASING FEMA TRAILERS AND THEN PUTTING THEM INTO RENTAL PARKS, MOBILE HOME PARKS. WE'VE REALIZED WE'VE WE'VE DONE OUR OUR STAFF THERE. LORI AND NINA, WE'VE MONITORED THESE MOBILE HOMES AND FOUND OUT THAT APPROXIMATELY 25 OF THESE ARE EITHER VACANT, NEVER WERE OCCUPIED OR THAT THE TENANT THAT THEY WERE PURCHASED FOR IS NOW USING THEM FOR RENTAL INCOME AND NOT LIVING IN IT AT ALL. THIS NEW STRATEGY WILL ALLOW US TO TAKE THESE VACANT HOMES, REHAB THEM, AND MAKE THEM LIVABLE AGAIN FOR EXTREMELY LOW AND VERY LOW INCOME RESIDENTS. THESE ARE RESIDENTS THAT ARE GOING TO BE, VETERANS, HOMELESS VETERANS, YOUTH AGING OUT OF FOSTER CARE, THE ELDERLY. ANY SPECIAL NEEDS POPULATION THAT HAS SOME SORT OF INCOME, THEY IT COULD BE SSI, IT COULD BE DISABILITY. BUT THAT CAN BRING ENOUGH INCOME TO THE TABLE TO BE ABLE TO PAY THE LOT RENT AND THEIR UTILITIES. WE'RE GOING TO WORK CLOSELY WITH OUR LOCAL CONTINUUM OF CARE IN THEIR COORDINATED ENTRY SYSTEM TO MAKE SURE WE'RE FOCUSING ON THE MOST IN NEED IN OUR COMMUNITY, SO WE CAN GET THEM HOUSED UNDER THIS NEW PROGRAM, THERE'S A MAXIMUM OF 25,000 AVAILABLE. WE MAY NOT NEED TO USE A 25,000 ON EACH HOME, BUT THAT WILL COVER EVERYTHING FROM THE REHAB TO THE NEW REGISTRATION TO TURNING ON THEIR UTILITIES, PAYING THEIR FIRST YEAR'S INSURANCE. WE WANT TO MAKE SURE WHEN WE REACH OUT TO HELP THESE EXTREMELY LOW INCOME CLIENTS THAT WE'RE NOT COST BURDENING THEM IN THE FIRST YEAR. SO THEY CAN, BE ABLE TO CALL THIS THEIR NEW HOME AND MOVE FORWARD COMFORTABLY, SEVERAL OF OUR STRATEGIES, WHICH, PURCHASE ASSISTANCE YOU'LL SEE THAT OUR MAXIMUM AWARD NOW IS 50,000 AND OUR [00:25:06] MINIMUM IS 25,000. THAT STILL EXTREMELY GENEROUS COMING OFF OF 75 AND 50. IT MAY NOT APPEAR TO BE SO, BUT WE'RE STILL ABOVE, OR AT THE PEAK OF MOST OF THE 126 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS THAT OFFER THIS PROGRAM IN THE STATE. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT, I HAD MENTIONED THIS BEFORE, BUT I WOULD LIKE FOR US TO START LOOKING INTO THIS WITH STAFF AND GETTING TO SOME ONE ON ONES AND JUST BEING ABLE TO LOOK AT, THERE HAVE BEEN SOME VARIOUS COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE STATE THAT HAVE HAD APPROACHED DIFFERENT OPTIONS AND DIFFERENT WAYS OF TRYING TO ATTACK AFFORDABLE HOUSING. ONE OF THE ONES IS AFFORDABLE OR ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS. EXCUSE ME, BUT ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS, AND JUST I WOULD LIKE FOR US TO LOOK AT WHAT THOSE STRATEGIES ARE OUT THERE AND TO SEE WHAT WE CAN FIND OUT AND WHAT AVENUES MIGHT WORK FOR OUR COMMUNITY AND BE ABLE TO ASSIST. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I FOUND INTERESTING ABOUT THE ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS IS FOR OLDER INDIVIDUALS. THEY HAVE, THEY'RE THEY'RE NEARING THE END OF THAT PROJECT. THEY'VE GOT ASPHALT DOWN AND THE WALKWAY UP. AND I WENT OUT THERE THE OTHER DAY AND LOOKED AT IT. IT'S A IT'S A GREAT PROJECT.
