OVER THE COURSE OF LAST WEEK DURING THE RAIN EVENT WE HAD, AND THEY'RE PHENOMENAL. I HOPE IF YOU CAN HEAR ME, YOU UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH THIS BOARD APPRECIATES YOU AND LOVES YOU. IT'S SO IMPORTANT THE JOB THEY DO AND IT DOESN'T. IT DOESN'T GO UNRECOGNIZED AND UNAPPRECIATED FROM ME. AND I'M I SPEAK FOR THE BOARD AND FOR THE COMMUNITY AS WELL. PANAMA CITY BEACH WAS SO GRACIOUS TO HOST US AND ALLOW US TO BE INVOLVED IN THAT, AND IT'S ALWAYS FUN GOING OUT IN THE COMMUNITY AND SEEING THE PEOPLE THAT WE SERVE. WE ACTUALLY HAD SOME SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES THAT HAD TO BE TOWED BECAUSE OF HOW BAD IT WAS. BUT OUR PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, OUR ROADS AND BRIDGE, THEY ARE GOING JUST LEAPS AND BOUNDS ABOVE WHAT THEY HAD TO DO. THEY WERE OUT THERE IN THE RAIN, TRYING TO GET THOSE ROADS READY FOR PEOPLE TO START PASSING. WE ALWAYS WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE CAN GET OUR EMS AND OUR FIRE TRUCKS DOWN THERE, AND FOR PEOPLE TO COME AND GO OUT OF THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS. SO JUST GRATEFUL FOR THE PATIENCE OF THE RESIDENTS OUT THERE. SOME OF THEM ARE VERY UNDERSTANDING, SOME, YOU KNOW, NOT AS UNDERSTANDING, BUT THEY'VE ALL BEEN JUST A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH AND JUST APPRECIATE THEIR PATIENCE. ROADS AND BRIDGES. ONE DAY WE'RE DOWN TO 180 PLUS MILES OF 190 PLUS MILES OF DIRT ROADS THAT WE STILL NEED TO PAVE, AND ONE DAY WE MAY ACHIEVE ALL THAT WAY AFTER WE'RE GONE. BUT ANYWAY, THERE'S GOING TO BE A BIG POT OF MONEY SOMEWHERE THAT WE'RE GOING TO GET A HOLD OF AND AND PAVE ALL THESE ROADS. ALSO THE PARADES. WE ENJOY THE PANAMA CITY, AND WE ACTUALLY WERE WORRIED WE WEREN'T GOING TO GET TO THE TRAFFIC CIRCLE, BUT WE MADE IT JUST FINE AND EVERYBODY HAD A GREAT TIME, WORRIED WE WERE GOING TO GET STUCK.
